Tucked away in Bonnet Bay, this once-cramped U-shaped kitchen has been transformed into an expansive and elegant centrepiece thanks to a collaborative effort between Nobby Kitchens and architect homeowners Linda and Ross. Their shared vision for a refined and functional kitchen now brings new life to the heart of their home.

Previously, the kitchen felt disconnected from the rest of the house, hampered by poor workflow and limited storage. With a clear design direction in place from the homeowners, Nobby Kitchens offered considered refinements – most notably relocating the fridge to the rear wall. This key adjustment unlocked the full potential of the cabinetry, allowing for a clean and cohesive bank of pantry and laundry units.

The result is an open-plan layout that flows effortlessly and functions intuitively. A standout feature is the Blum Revego DUO pocket door system that conceals the pantry and coffee station when not in use. This subtle yet sophisticated addition ensures the space remains sleek and clutter-free.

Every detail has been carefully considered, from the curved island that softens the geometry of the space to the mitred drawer fronts and panels that speak to the craftsmanship behind the design.

One of the more complex challenges was integrating the laundry with the pantry. While the pocket door system couldn’t be used for the laundry, a clever workaround involved a handleless tip-on mechanism paired with overlapping tall panels. The result is a unified, streamlined appearance that maintains the integrity of the kitchen’s design language.

Elegant yet practical, this kitchen proves that with thoughtful planning and expert collaboration, even the most underutilised spaces can become showstoppers.
