Style and substance: renovated kitchen

In this renovated kitchen, dark and light cabinet finishes are balanced to ensure harmony within the space

“Before the , this kitchen was more than 20 years old and was located in a separate room. With the removal of an existing wall, the space is now a far cry from the previously outdated design.

The owners were after a modern kitchen that opened up to both the living room and outdoor terrace and view. The integration of the kitchen into the living and dining areas provides a wonderful entertaining and family space, while a marble benchtop provides the ‘wow’ factor to go with the view.

The kitchen itself has loads of storage with Blum internals to maximise functionality. The overhang on the breakfast bar provides a key informal meeting space in the middle of the home, while a mirrored splashback reflects the view and adds to the overall feeling of light and openness in the room.

The style is clean and modern with handleless doors and drawers, an appliance tower to store small appliances and an integrated fridge and rangehood.”
