2025 National Pool of the year awards Entrant

More is definitely more when it comes to this captivating pool and spa combination, winner of both a Victorian and National Gold Award at the 2024 SPASA Awards

This family man dreamed of a pool that suited his whole family, and the Corebree design that he and his family chose is exactly that. Open, luxurious and spacious, the 10.5m-long pool has ample room for both leisure and fitness, while the addition of an adjoining Space spa and attached fully tiled wet deck water feature with bubblers adds to the wow factor. Accompanied by an amazing light wall to create an enthralling backyard ambience, this pool and spa combination looks stunning both day and night with its incredible light feature.

“We always wanted a pool, but we knew we wanted something different,” explains the homeowner. Following extensive research online to obtain ideas, he discovered Rainwise Pools Melbourne, who were engaged to build this pool and spa as part of a much larger renovation project.

The pool was installed as a “sleeper”. The process involves going in pre-build to install the pool to a full and covered stage, and returning post-build to install equipment and other finishes.

This type of install can present a different set of challenges to the usual pool building process. “It is important to work closely with the home builder to set heights, to ensure the pool will work in perfectly with the proposed build,” says Rainwise Pools Melbourne. “There is also the issue of managing the pool during the long construction phase.”

The project was ‘sleeping’ for around 12 months while the rest of the building works were completed. “With sleeper pools we have developed a sleeper stage handover tutorial and checklist,” explains Rainwise Pools Melbourne. “We instruct the owners on pool management during the build, and the importance of ensuring site drainage is sufficient and monitored to prevent excess water from being directed around the pool. We also arrange hard-cover pool tops and temporary pool fencing, and instruct clients on the importance of ensuring ongoing compliance and safety.”

“The build process — from planning to building — was good,” says the homeowner. “We are so happy. The best thing about it is that it’s a gathering point for family and it brings us all together.”
