Energy Efficient Heaters

A pool is too big an investment to be used only six months a year, but unfortunately, the weather isn’t that kind to swimmers

The ideal temperature for leisure swimming is around 25 to 26 degrees, but this temperature is rarely acquired by natural means. For most of the swimming season, pool water will stay around 18 to 20 degrees, as the majority of the warmth gained during the day is lost overnight — leaving the pool cold again in the morning.

A pool heater is an option, but the cost on your power bills can be prohibitive, not to mention the effect on the environment. ElectroHeat Heat Pumps has created an exciting solution — a pool heater that is energy efficient, cost effective and environmentally friendly. One ElectroHeat pump produces five times more heat than the electrical energy it consumes, and the pump uses R407 refrigerant, which is totally harmless to the ozone layer.

The ElectroHeat pump works by extracting heat energy from the surrounding air, much like an airconditioner in reverse, and transferring that heat into the pool water. As soon as the ambient air reaches 10 degrees or more, the ElectroHeat pump starts heating. As a result, the only energy the ElectroHeat Heat Pump consumes is the small amount required to run a compressor and a fan motor, which results in huge cost savings: up to 80 per cent over propane gas heaters, 50 per cent over natural gas and more than 500 per cent over electrical heaters.

Cost saving isn’t the only selling point. ElectroHeat has put as much thought into the reliability and durability of the Heat Pump. The outer cabinet is constructed of a UV-treated corrosion proof ABS housing, making the system completely weatherproof and rustproof. A Titanium Heat Exchanger offers total protection against erosion and corrosion. Titanium metal’s corrosion resistance is due to a stable, protective, strongly adherent oxide film. This film forms instantly when a fresh surface is exposed to air or moisture. Titanium is resistant to: chlorinated water, ozone, iodine, Baquacil, bromine and salt water.

What’s more, the system’s automated controls give the user complete ease of mind. Simply type in the temperature you want your pool water to be and forget about it. The ElectroHeat does the rest, heating your pool water to as much as 40 degrees if desired (depending on the water and ambient air temperature). The system even de-frosts itself automatically in cold weather, automatically shuts off if there is no water flow, and resets in the event of pressure fluctuations i.e. too high or too low — features worth splashing out for.
