Extensive indoor and outdoor spaces allow the owners of this kitchen to enjoy living to its fullest.

The old kitchen featured very little space and gave the owners no real opportunity to liaise with adjoining living areas while working in the kitchen. The goal in renovating was to create an easy-living and entertaining space that would enable the cooks to interact with guests.

Look at the result! Walls have been removed and this once cramped and dark space has undergone an amazing transformation. The open layout of the room now allows the owners to enjoy indoor and outdoor living in style, while practical considerations, such as the work triangle and plenty of preparation space, have not been forgotten.

The large island bench is the centre of the kitchen’s entertaining hub and provides the owners with additional bench space. It’s also the perfect spot to lay out a tray of canapés for visitors to nibble on while the main meal is being prepared.

A large deck adjoins the kitchen, so the space has been oriented to allow the family to make maximum use of the outdoor area, particularly during the warmer months. Every centimetre of this kitchen has been carefully considered to ensure there are no wasted spaces and all work areas function at top level.

The designer needed to work around a large window that couldn’t be used, so it’s been incorporated into the layout and used to maximum advantage to ensure light streams into the space. Top-quality appliances ensure every meal is perfect, while extra-special attention was paid to the finish of the cabinetry for a flawless effect.

And, to top it all off, a stunning red splashback adds the final touch of designer style.
