A home of luxury, love and perfect dimensions.

The owners of this dwelling knew exactly what they wanted to create; a sanctuary and a little piece of Italy. The home would reflect their lifestyle, with large luxurious rooms and open living areas to entertain guests. To get the ball rolling, they approached award-winning builder, Charleston Homes, to bring their dream home to life. The design is truly amazing. With four spacious bedrooms, a media room and study, formal and informal living rooms, music room, full-size billiard room, and a central living space that opens to a luxurious streamlined pool and a perfectly pruned landscape, it’s a truly luxurious sanctuary.

The charm and character of Italian design is captured throughout this classic home. The entrance boasts amazing drama with high front doors trimmed with copper. They open to a glamorous Juliet balcony overlooking the spacious foyer and bring to light the impressively high ceiling in the formal living area that emphasises the luxurious and spacious aspects of the house. The kitchen truly encapsulates an Italian theme, with the contemporary use of rustic porcelain floors that exude an earthy appearance and contrast with the beautiful Antique White gloss polyurethane cabinets. CaesarStone in Biscuit covers the wide benchtops for a classy touch in this functional and spacious kitchen. Carefully considered interiors allow for a natural flow of space. The separation of the entertaining zones and formal areas creates the perfect level of connection between rooms, allowing for both privacy and an open-plan style.

The lavish dining room sweeps into the music room and boasts a picturesque view of the pool. The formal living room, music room and dining room all feature suede paintwork, with a rich red tint that romanticises these formal spaces. A sense of rich luxury is created with finishing touches such as the grand piano. The master bedroom is strategically located to the south and overlooks the pool and gardens. It features two huge walk-in wardrobes and a spacious ensuite complete with a large deep tub. The informal living room is the privileged area that opens out to the alfresco locale.

The rear gardens create a greater sense of space and are the perfect complement to this entertaining hub. The addition of a courtyard floods the home with natural light and circulates natural fresh air throughout. Charleston Homes says its favourite part of the inspired design is the informal living area that creatively flows out to the pool: “It speaks of casual days and the outdoor life around the pool and gardens,” says Col Procter from Charleston Homes. Every beautiful structure faces its individual challenges, and for this project it was the sloping land that Charleston Homes had to skilfully work around. With careful thought and ingenious design and landscape concept, the environmental element was transformed to add to the dynamics of the home, creating unique interest and substance to the gardens. The courtyards are situated north to reap the benefits of natural sunlight. The dwelling is equipped with thermal glazing and the walls and ceiling are packed with insulation, creating an almost silent interior. And for an added touch of warmth, timber and porcelain floors are found throughout the building. Charleston Homes selected all materials based on aesthetics, low maintenance and durability. The clean lines of the entry and the informal alfresco are the epitome of seamless design.

The company is meticulous in its design plan; the aesthetic quality and functionality of the structure work hand-in-hand during the concept phase. From the carefully thought-out interiors to the perfect gardens, this home is true to the design and flavour it represents.
