This long narrow bathroom has been transformed from the worst room in the house — complete with a homemade toilet — to a chic, luxurious haven.
“Previously this was a tiny bathroom with a handmade toilet! It’s quite a long, narrow room so we wanted to make the size a feature, rather than a negative. The freestanding Duravit Happy D bath with walnut timber veneer panel surround is positioned in the centre of the room for a sense of balance. The heated towel rails and vanities are also balanced, one on each side of the room. The matching bathroom furniture pulls the room’s look together and creates warmth through the use of timber. Behind the bath is a large feature stone splashback which not only conceals the toilet and shower from immediate view, but also forms an elegant first impression when entering the room. The stone flooring works well with the natural tones of the space and is kept warm by underfloor heating. It’s a large family bathroom yet still feels intimate and special.”
