They source their beautiful products from all over the world; the shop houses a very eclectic range with a focus on natural sea life, such as a large range of coral, shells and sea urchins. The shop has a modern Caribbean feel with antique wood buckets, wooden fishing nets, and objects from the past married with beautiful modern cushions, homewares, airondack chairs, cane furniture, driftwood lamps and handmade barnacle vases. The Shanxi province, west of Beijing, occupies a special place in the world of antique Chinese furniture. Manufacturer and supplier, Shanxi Folk Art, has been producing furniture for almost 20 years and remains true to ancient production techniques, including a finish achieved by palm pushing, grinding and polishing, resulting in a mirror-like surface. These cabinets are highly polished and handpainted lacquered pieces. They are already well known to collectors worldwide and are the result of some of the finest craftsmanship techniques in the country. Managing director, John Yu, says demand for the furniture has until now been mostly from Europe, the United States and some parts of Asia, however this is the first time they have exported to the Australian market.
