The kitchen is the heart of the family home, and often one of the first rooms Darren James Interiors will design.
Darren and his family wanted a galley-style kitchen with a walk-through scullery, coupled with a breakfast sitting area for casual seating and meals. Adequate kitchen storage is always essential, and this was achieved through the inclusion of many drawers.
Balance in any design improves the aesthetic of the space, so instead of heavy overhead cabinetry, an eye-catching curved rangehood feature was designed, as well as a simple floating shelf wrapped in stainless steel and painted in an industrial two-pack. The benchtops — so important in the kitchen space — are Staron Solid Surface, ensuring a quality durable finish. The colour chosen was Bright White in a 19mm thickness. The integrated kitchen sink completes the seamless look that Darren wanted in the all-white design of the island bench.
The kitchen opens up to a large walk-through scullery, used to cook, prepare, clean up and store functional favourites like the blender and Darren’s favourite, the coffee machine. Darren’s love of modernism, simplicity and functionality weighed into the design and aesthetic of the kitchen. Staron Solid Surface allowed him to achieve the seamlessness, soft curves and extreme functionality he was after.
