When the owners of this beachside home decided it was time to bring their 1970s kitchen into the present day, they turned to the experts at Dezign Kitchens.
Inspired by their recently renovated backyard, the homeowners wanted their kitchen to feel just as warm, welcoming and timeless. The design team leaned on their expertise to deliver this stylish kitchen.
Gone are the green laminate cabinets and aqua-blue linoleum floors. The new sun-drenched, stylish space channels the relaxed glamour of a Slim Aarons Palm Springs photograph.
The footprint of the kitchen couldn’t change, so the team had to work within the existing space and make it smarter, rather than bigger. To achieve that, Dezign Kitchens introduced custom-sized cabinetry and spacious drawers, along with clever corner storage solutions that dramatically increased functionality. Every inch of the layout was carefully considered to provide maximum storage without compromising on design.
Visually, the kitchen is a lovely blend of texture and tone. Laminex timber-look laminate doors add richness and warmth, while matching scalloped battening on the island gives the space a sense of dimension without feeling overdone. The Terrazzo Neolith porcelain benchtops are a beautiful yet practical choice that provide a subtle pattern and durable work surface.
This cohesive, highly functional kitchen truly celebrates the home’s coastal location. Bright, modern, and packed with smart design, this kitchen is a testament to how expert design and a clear vision can turn even a small, fixed space into something truly special.
