This kitchen embraces natural elements to create a light-filled, high-end and contemporary cooking and entertaining area.
“It was easy to appreciate the scale of this project and understand my client’s needs for a high-end kitchen that oozed appeal, superb functionality and visual purpose. The renovation had to incorporate a design and luxury finishes that not only took full advantage of the apartment’s panoramic Swan River and city views, but also sat on par with this stunning backdrop. The previous kitchen was impractical, enclosed and limiting. To achieve the desired grand and open design, the kitchen was repositioned and reworked. A large dining area and more formal living area were also included. Four of the five structural columns were concealed within the cabinetry design and this created distinct working, preparation, display and dining zones. The travertine tiling serves as a natural base for the introduction of sleek whites and warm tones. Being a large and slightly disconnected space, it was essential to pair materials and create contrast. The feature planter boxes within the tall cabinetry of the entrance allow natural light through to the main kitchen and a connection between the two areas. The kitchen has ample storage, easy access to the bar, cellar and refrigerators, integrated quality appliances and an abundance of bench space. Although a model of opulence, it’s also a highly functional, multipurpose kitchen that can be enjoyed whether cooking, dining or enjoying a drink with friends.”
