Peninsula Homes’ 2017 Collaroy Project: Weatherboard Wonder

Gallery

In keeping with the classic Collaroy housing style of linear weatherboards and making the most of the stunning location, Peninsula Homes has created a wondrous multi-level design that captures views from almost every room

There were many challenges in the design of this home, like having to work with the strict CDC parameters (state government complying development rules) whilst also providing maximum development for the site. The results achieved left Peninsula Homes’ clients speechless as the home was being built, allowing them to fully see the benefits of the thoroughly considered custom design.

Clever use of large windows with higher than normal sill heights allowed the views to be enjoyed from inside the home, while also providing almost total privacy from neighbouring homes. A huge amount of ground work was undertaken at the commencement of this project with great attention given to the foundations. From that point onwards, it was smooth sailing and the house was completed in May 2017 – 11 months from bare dirt to completion.

Unique Aspects of the home

  • Large 6 metres of fall from the rear of the property to the front
  • Multi-level design to work with the land
  • Double glazed windows throughout for both thermal and sound
  • Views captured from almost every room
  • Perfect natural light and air flow
