Enjoying long summer days and nights through the creation of a consummate wet and dry entertainment area was a priority for this young family. Designed by COS Design and built and installed by Domain Pools, their large pool is complete with swim-out, ledge, spa and deck area and delivers fun for all ages.
High-end finishes continue with an expansive undercover entertaining area housing an open fire and outdoor kitchen with an intricate crazy paving feature. Plantings frame different zones while also providing privacy. As a highlight, the project incorporates various products from Granite Works, including bluestone coping with a 100mm drop-down face, a bluestone crazy paving feature area in front of the fireplace, and bluestone block water spouts in the pool.
All bluestone was produced to custom sizes by Granite Works.
Granite Works was founded in 1998 as a specialist supplier of natural stone and importing products from all around the world, customised to client needs. In addition to custom products, it also holds stock of its most popular sizes and colours and can source granite, bluestone, limestone, travertine, marble and sandstone. While based in Melbourne, Granite Works can supply anywhere in Australia and outside of Melbourne. The company has a great client base in Adelaide and is growing in Sydney and Brisbane. “In this modern age, most of our client work is done online and over the phone after an initial consultation to find out what our customers have in mind and what applications we’re producing for,” says Jordan Taylor. “This could be slip-resistant paving and pool coping for around a pool, wall cladding for a feature wall or features for the landscape. We’ll follow up the consultation with an email containing photos of products we think would suit. From there, we narrow down the options and often post or send samples to our customers for their reference. Once a selection is confirmed we will finalise required sizes, finishes and other details before production is commenced.
