From the fully equipped kitchen to the plasma screen, this outdoor room has it all

The home renovation complete, it was time for the dated garden to make way for a modern resort-style outdoor retreat, complete with outdoor kitchen, television and stylish dining facilities. In the hands of Steve Taylor and the team from Creative Outdoor Solutions, this is just what the family has received.

The alfresco entertaining area is the new social hub of the home and it has everything the family dreamed of, including a full outdoor kitchen (built by The Kitchen Place). From the commercial bar fridges, BeefEater barbecue and Qasair rangehood to the modern glass mosaic splashbacks and 80mm-thick CaesarStone bench tops, this kitchen is the very epitome of modern design.

There is a weatherproof plasma television for watching DVDs and the family’s favourite shows and to extend the use of the outdoor room into the cooler months, there are café blinds that pull down to offer protection from inclement weather and a bank of ceiling mounted HEATSTRIP electric radiant heaters (supplied by Thermofilm).

The Australian designed and manufactured slimline 2400W heaters have drawn admiring comments from guests impressed by the modern subtle black profiling and the even, efficient heat radiance. The family has been impressed by the low operating costs. With a water protection rating of IPX-5 and a choice of silver powder coated or polished stainless steel casing, HEATSTRIP electric radiant heaters are ideal for use in any undercover outdoor room.

The outdoor room looks out onto the modern new pool and the stunning landscaped grounds, helping to make diners feel connected to nature. The contemporary plant palette largely relies on the textural interplay of a variety of native plants, including grass trees, kangaroo paws, Banksia spinulosa ‘Birthday Candles’, dwarf Protea ‘White King’, Acacia cognata ‘Green Mist’, blue fescue, Libertia ixioides ‘Taupo Blaze’, several Astelia varieties, Lomandra confertifolia ‘Little Con’ and a hedge of weeping lilly pilly.
A 90,000 litre underground tank harvests all storm water. The collected water irrigates the garden, tops up the pool and supplies the home’s total water requirements, except for drinking water.

At night, extensive ambient landscape lighting brings the space to life, creating the ultimate entertaining environment.
