Temporary pools on the back lawn are a thing of the past and nowadays, the design of pools and the surrounding garden landscape are just as important as the architecture of the house
John Storch of A Total Concept Landscape Architects and Swimming Pool Designers does more than just design swimming pools. On this elevated Port Hacking riverside property in Sydney, A Total Concept incorporated a stunning large swimming pool with a stylish cabana and gardens for entertaining and exercising.
The wet edge of the pool visually cascades into the waters below and draws the eye to the background views of the river and national park. The full-length underwater bench seating provides the perfect place to contemplate the view, as well as the harmonised colours of the teal Italian glass mosaic tiling of the pool and river water below.
The cabana has been designed with simple, clean lines and incorporates full bathroom and shower amenities, together with outdoor barbecue, sink and fridge facilities. The cabana also provides the perfect shaded entertaining area, ideally located adjacent to the swimming pool and enabling parents to supervise their children.
The white sandstone paving contrasts elegantly with the vibrant water and gardens containing formal plantings of cupressus, camellias, port wine magnolias and star jasmine offer an irresistible invitation to enjoy this tranquil world.
