Three steps to a sparkling pool or spa

Swimming pools bring joy to the lives of thousands of Australians. However, as Zodiac Pool Cleaners tell us, there are three essential steps to take in order to ensure that your pool water is clean and safe.

Step 1: Balance

Balancing refers to process in which the water is prepared so that any protective products you later add can work effectively. The water balance should also be roughly the same pH as the human body — that is, between 7.2 and 7.6.

Missing this step could result in:

  • Skin and eye irritation
  • Excessive amounts of microorganisms in the water
  • Corrosion of pool equipment

Step 2: Protection

Adding purifiers such as chlorine to your pool offer effective protection against bacteria and algae. Stabilisers protect the UV rays from evaporating protective products from the pool. Purifiers, in conjunction with stabilisers, keep your pool clean and safe for swimming.

Step 3: Perfection

There are a range of products available from Zodiac to keep your pool cleaner for longer. You do not want to keep cleaning your pool every five minutes — these products allow you to enjoy your pool, not make it a hassle.

How to keep your pool pH balanced this summer

Just like people, pools need balance. In pool-speak, balancing means getting the alkalinity and pH of the water right, so that protective chemicals, like chlorine, can work effectively. Also, when the water balance is in harmony with the human body it keeps the water pleasant, prevents eye and skin irritations, and prevents corrosion to pool surfaces and equipment.
