The Apaiser Stone Composite Lunar bath is the central feature in this stunningly simple bathroom.
The brief from the owners of this major bathroom renovation was simple: deliver the bath and build the bathroom around it. So the Apaiser Stone Composite Lunar bath is the key element in the bathroom space, with the Crest vanity chosen to create a feature basin that complements it.
A polished concrete floor colour of pure white with sandstone has been specifically chosen to blend with the flowing lines of the Apaiser bathware and the resulting floor colour is both distinctive and warm.
The Edwardian home was built on bluestone, so in keeping with that the owners and builder’s designer chose a pure matt, honed bluestone tile for the walls. The floor-to-ceiling bluestone tiling creates another stunning feature and further accentuates and highlights the Apaiser bath and vanity.
The large 1250mm antique-silver mirror was sourced from a Melbourne mirror company and is reminiscent of the Edwardian period, in keeping with the general look and feel of the home.
A strategically placed shower drencher over the bath allows the water to remain within the Apaiser Lunar bath and not spill on the polished concrete floor or bluestone tiling — an extra requirement of the bathroom owners.
It’s hard to believe that the bathroom in this home was once part of the laundry and was a ’70s-style room with dated brown mosaic tiles and brass finishes. This renovation has turned the room into a place the owners say continues to blow their minds every time they step inside.
