Outdoor Design’s Landscape of the Year Awards showcase landscaping excellence

For nigh on 25 years, Outdoor Design has been an advocate of innovative Australian landscape design and construction excellence. Three years ago, we took that support to the next level, launching the national Landscape of the Year Awards.

The Landscape of the Year Awards both acknowledge and celebrate the finest residential gardens and outdoor projects from around the country, along with the skilled landscape architects, designers and contractors behind them.

The diverse projects entered into this year’s awards, gathered from across the country, are a source of endless inspiration and include luxurious canal-frontage retreats, elevated landscapes offering panoramic city views, bright and breezy coastal sanctuaries, acreage landscapes with space and luxury to spare, unique urban gardens, inventive poolscapes designed for total indulgence, and inviting outdoor entertaining havens inspired by the tropics.

While the styles, sizes and settings vary, what all the gardens have in common is the skill, care and attention to detail that a landscape professional brought to the project. The result being, in every case, an individually-tailored design and a built-to-last landscape that caters to the lifestyle needs of the people using it.

Just as Outdoor Design’s national Landscape of the Year Awards wouldn’t be possible without Australia’s vibrant landscaping community, credit also goes to our generous sponsors. Our Gold Sponsor, Davey Water Products, is a well-established company of more than 90 years’ standing that provides innovative, industry-leading pool, spa, water treatment, and garden irrigation products Australia-wide.

Our Silver Sponsor is ShapeScaper, manufacturer of a popular range of versatile modular steel garden edging and planters, and our Bronze Sponsor is Shadeform, experts in the design and manufacture of retractable roof systems, shade sails, awnings, and more.

On the following pages we showcase the entrants in the 2026 awards, all of which provide valuable insight into just what can be achieved when you draw on the expertise of a qualified landscape professional. The winning projects will be published in the next edition of Outdoor Design.
