Light and bright: kitchen design

While often the busiest room in the house, this kitchen’s open layout and airy atmosphere quickly reins in any likely chaos. The owners were after an open-plan kitchen with separate bar and working stations and a layout that would allow them to easily move around the room. Accordingly, space has been fully optimised for ease of use as well as to provide generous storage inclusions such as a large walk-in pantry. Aesthetically, the kitchen is clean, modern and streamlined, with seamless finishes including shadowline drawers and integrated appliances. Providing a stunning outlook of the outside area, wide windows sitting above both the sink and cooktop further open up the room, letting in ample air and light. This bright and airy ambience is perfectly complemented by dazzling white gloss cabinets and kickboards. LED strip lighting adds an extra touch of brilliance for a subtle yet glamorous finish. With additional well-appointed features such as an integrated casual dining space and separate wet bar, this kitchen is wonderfully functional while remaining aesthetically pure.

As the kitchen is part of such a large open-plan living and entertaining area, both inside and out, the owners were keen to conceal the pantry, small appliances and preparation area, which is why we designed such a large butler’s pantry with all open shelving and open drawers
