The featured pool is a breathtaking example of creating the complete entertaining package for use all year in a classic home. The pool and entertaining areas were all designed by Sean Lynch of Malibu Pools.
The brief from the homeowner was to change his large sloping front yard into useable space for entertaining, and to create a modern eye-catching design that flows from the main house down to the pool house, blending in with this stunning home.
For a complete pool, spa and landscape package, a holistic design approach to this project was needed including all decking, boardwalks, retaining walls, pool fencing and a pool and spa combination that would bring resort styling to this large pool and spa area for entertaining large family parties.
The client wanted the spa to be joined to the pool to allow for a step-stone spill-over, creating water movement and energy. The large six-person spa is heated for use all year while entertaining around the pool house. The use of classic natural sandstone sourced locally has added to an intrinsically beautiful concept for the family to enjoy while entertaining family and friends.
Rendered retaining walls were required due to the slope of the land, but also created an element of commonality between the pool area and the rendered home and pool house, bringing the spaces together in a fusion of classic elegance and practical style.
The initial meeting with Sean Lynch at Malibu Pools and Landscapes allows the clients to outline their ideas for their project, and ask questions. From this meeting, the 3D concept designs are created including all aspects of the design, as well as materials and finishes.
