Enduroshield was used to protect the world renowned Bombay Sapphire Distillery in Hampshire, UK

The Bombay Sapphire Distillery is something of a wonder. Built at an old Victorian paper mill on the south coast of England, the distillery’s construction was commissioned by famous gin-makers Bombay Sapphire.

The 18th century paper mill’s original brick buildings were converted into a distillery and two breath-taking curved glass greenhouses added to house 10 tropical and Mediterranean botanical that are used to create gin. Perhaps most impressive is its environmentally-friendly design, which ensured the distillery is sustainable and efficient and upholds the heritage of the site.

It was in recognition of this environmental achievement that the gin distillery was awarded the prestigious BREEAM (Building Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method) Award for Industrial Design.

One of the most important elements of the Bombay Sapphire’s construction was the use of EnduroShield easy clean surface treatment for glass, which was applied to the swooping glass structures so that water and contaminants bead right off, reducing the time and frequency of cleaning.

Enduroshield chemically bands to the glass substrate, transforming it into a high performance hydrophobic surface which will protect against staining, and reduce the effort and regularity of maintenance. Enduroshield provides ultra-thin, transparent coating that adheres to glass surfaces and great reduces cleaning time and frequency.
