The existing kitchen was in good condition but the owners felt that it was too small and cramped for their lifestyle, which often includes entertaining. It was Dana Kitchens’ renowned reputation and design skills that were needed to rejuvenate this kitchen and make it a perfect fit for the clients.

Taking inspiration from their surroundings in Maleny in Northern Queensland, the clients wanted to create an open and airy English-inspired country kitchen in keeping with the classic style of the house.

The new kitchen has been built to last, with hand-painted solid timber doors and furniture ply interiors. Attention has been given to every detail, with hand-crafted Italian handles, custom-made tea towel holders and drawer interiors designed to accommodate all the kitchen’s belongings.

Unique kick skirts and doors were created to complement the classic styling of the kitchen and to create the look that the clients were after. Marble was used for the benchtops throughout the kitchen with lamb’s tongue edge detail. An overhang was integrated into the island benchtop, making it a great spot for guests to socialise.
To increase ceiling height, the low bulkhead was removed, allowing much-needed natural light to stream into the kitchen. A wall was also removed, providing almost twice the area in which to create the new kitchen.

For that touch of extravagance, while remaining practical, the kitchen was fitted for wine storage and fitted with two sinks to aid in food preparation; with one sink on the island bench and the other under the window overlooking the courtyard.

Successfully creating a beautiful English-inspired kitchen, the design team at Dana Kitchens with the help of Stuart Rattle of Melbourne have exceeded the expectations of the clients, giving them the exquisite yet functional kitchen they always imagined.

The kitchen was designed by the DANA KITCHENS design team in conjunction with Stuart Rattle and built by DANA KITCHENS.
