A classic kitchen makeover

When the owners bought a property during extensive renovations, they needed someone they could trust to finish the job.

They wanted a practical, beautiful kitchen while keeping it in the same traditional style and character as the rest of the home. As previous Ikal clients, the owners returned, secure in the knowledge that their kitchen renovation was in excellent hands.

The old-world charm of the home has been instated in the kitchen with a faux chimney and mantle constructed into the cabinetry, while washed lacquer was applied to the doors and panels to create a homely feel.

Armed with a concept plan from the previous owners, Ikal designer Joe Grassi enhanced it to create a design that was better suited to the new owners’ needs. From the selection of appliances to the layout of the room, every detail has been meticulously thought out. For example, the kick plates were brought forward from the cabinets to match the high skirting boards.

The kitchen is easy to navigate and has state-of-the-art integrated appliances to ensure that every meal is exceptional and the preparation, cooking and clean-up times are fuss-free. All fittings, hardware and accessories are of the highest quality. All kitchens need plentiful storage and this aspect of the design has been cleverly implemented throughout the kitchen to ensure that benchtops are kept as uncluttered as possible, leaving plenty of room for preparation and serving.

The resulting kitchen is large and imposing, full of character and meshes old-world with modern brilliantly, exceeding the desires of the owners.
