This gorgeous asymmetrical design enhances the individuality of this kitchen, giving it a great balance between traditional and modern design.
“This kitchen is the result of careful planning and an extensive renovation of a 1930s home. We relocated the kitchen to the rear of the house, where it now sits within a larger space with convenient access to both indoor and outdoor living areas. Traditional Shaker-style doors and drawers are combined with stainless-steel handles that have a semi-industrial look inspired by new stainless-steel appliances. It’s a successful fusion of contemporary and traditional design that includes a custom-made stainless-steel drawer below the microwave designed to align with the adjacent 40mm stone bench. At the splashback, the black brushed granite creates a striking contrast with the surrounding white Caesarstone splashback and white joinery. We balanced the black splashback with a matching 100mm black granite box with mitred corners, which is located to conceal the sink. Stepped corbels below the 4m island bench take their design cues from Art Deco details in the home.”
